So, yeah, that’s about it. It’s an alarm clock with Google Assistant built-in. Is it worth $79? While I do enjoy it very much so, the fact that you can’t stream any videos to it is a big disappointment.

Nice design; no built-in camera; dedicated mute switch; simple interface
Can't play videos; audio quality is just OK; seems a bit expensive
Google Assistant branches out into your smart home
The Lenovo Smart Clock does is job brilliantly thanks to a slick design that features everything one would want from an alarm clock. With the physical privacy shutter and the USB charging port, it is an excellent bedside gadget.
Great clock design; Good sound quality; Charging port; Privacy audio shutter
Display brightness significantly lower than competitors; Fewer Skills Than Alexa
The Lenovo Smart Clock with Google Assistant is an excellent night stand companion. It generally shows your selected clock face, but if you swipe right on the screen you can access information about the weather, your calendar, your upcoming alarms, and whatever music you are listening to.
Responsive IPS touchscreen; Small and sleek design; Google Assistant-enabled; Compatible with multiple devices; Clear audio; Easy set-up
Limited features; Lack on on-board camera (this may be a plus for some of you); Google Assistant occasionally unresponsive
For just a few more dollars, Lenovo's Smart Clock improves on the Google Home Mini with an always-on display for showing the time.
Responsive Google Assistant ; USB port for charging separate device ; Visible display with good viewing angles
Limited use of display ; Weak sound quality ; Doesn't work as digital photo frame
You'll have to go elsewhere if you want all the features of a Google Nest Hub or Echo Show, but for smartspeaker buyers who just want a cheap wake-up and bedtime option, the Lenovo Smart Clock doesn't disappoint.
Rather than simply squeezing the current Google Smart Displays into a smaller package, the Lenovo Smart Clock has been built to be an alarm clock first and foremost, which makes it easier to use and better suited for its primary function.
Works well as an alarm clock; Neat looks and small body; Works well as a smart assistant
Display feels underutilised; Some features missing from full-size Smart Displays
Other devices do more, but this is the slickest alarm clock you can buy (for now)
Charming design; Auto-brightness works well; Surprisingly loud; Morning Routines well implemented
Screen doesn’t do much beyond core features; No video; Could do with more cards
The Lenovo Smart Clock is a fairly simple concept - a Home Mini with a screen - but slick design, a simple interface, and smart features around screen brightness make it a surprisingly compelling offering.
