Leica Ultravid 8x42 HD

It would be difficult not to say positive things about a pair of binoculars which in no test category dropped below the average and in most got very good or excellent results. All of this was achieved keeping the dimensions of this instrument in check.

exceptionally solid; stylish casing which is comfortable to hold; good transmission; sharp image in most part of the field of view; excellent correction of astigmatism; not very high coma; slight chromatic aberration in the centre of the field; negligible light fall-off on the edge of the field,...

a bit too high chromatic aberration on the edge of the field of view

Leica Ultravid binoculars

This range replaces the earlier Leica Trinovid models, and easily surpasses them. With instruments as fine as this, it's never worth skimping. If you imagine the lifetime of a product like this – which will most likely exceed your own – it's a small price to pay for perfection.

Uncompromising Clarity & Construction

After much research and trying Swarovski; Zeiss; Vortex; and Nikon, these were hands down the best binoculars for me. They are light, well built, and really bright. The clarity and color rendition is truly amazing!

The decision to buy a pair of Leica 8x42 Ultravid HD binoculars will probably not be made lightly as make no mistake these are not cheap binoculars, but as with many things in life, you get what you pay for and here you get an incredible pair of binoculars.

Leica Geovid 8 x 42

I originally tried the Swarovski Range model. Although the Swarovski was a bit clearer I found the Leica able to range more accurately and in slightly poorer conditions with the Leica. An additional feature I really like is the ability to add your own ballistic info.
