Leica TL2 Type 5370

The Leica TL2 is the third model in a series of interchangeable-lens cameras based upon a compact 'unibody' machined from a single block of aluminium. We reviewed the original Leica T (Typ 701) back in May 2014, but not its successor, the Leica TL.

Leica TL2 review

The Leica TL2 is certainly not without its charms. It's beautifully made, the large and bright touchscreen is one of the best we've used on a camera, and images from the 24.3MP APS-C sensor are very good (provided you shoot in raw).

Stunning touchscreen; Excellent raw image quality; Premium finish

High price; Poor battery life; No IS for still images; No built-in EVF

Leica TL2

The Leica TL2 is a 24MP mirrorless camera with a one-piece aluminium body and very smartphone-like touchscreen control. It has a gorgeous tactile design with one of the best touch interfaces you'll find on any camera.

Beautiful; tactile design; Superb touchscreen interface; Excellent raw image quality; 32GB memory built-in

No built-in electronic viewfinder; Uninspiring JPEG output; No image stabilisation in either the body or lens; Doesn't work so well in low light

Leica TL2 Review

Leica's newest mirrorless camera is making a style statement...

Sharp images; Stylish exterior; 4K video

Lacks a viewfinder; Awkward weight distribution; Quirky controls
