I use this drive for video editing in Premiere Pro, both 1080HD and 4k video files. I picked this model based on my experience with Lacie products and the speed of this drive. I'm 4 and a half months in and it's been solid. I would buy this drive again. A lot of bang for the buck. Update Feb.

Not as good as the previous model

After using the LaCie 2big Dock Thunderbolt 3 - 16TB for about a year alongside the previous model (LaCie 2big Dock Thunderbolt 2). Pros: The ports on the front of the Hard drive. Cons: It is no faster to use in real life compared to the previous model.

Easy to format for Windows 10

I reformatted this for windows 10 and partitioned it. It was very easy to do using the Windows management tools. The drive is quite quiet. I hear a quiet hum and it clicks when accessing data but is quieter than most of the drives that I own. It seems to be working well- very fast access.

but seems after this it is working fine..

Warning - If you have a Thunderbolt 2 Mac don't expect the 2 additional cables needed to be purchased (Apple Thunderbolt 2 to 3 converter and then cable connecting to drive £75) will do the trick they won't........this foxed me for a bit thinking the unit was broken...

LaCie 2big Dock Thunderbolt 3 Review

LaCie's 2big Dock Thunderbolt 3, designed by Neil Poulton, is the latest addition to the company's professional product line. A two disk external drive, it offers fast transfer speeds courtesy of its Thunderbolt 3 interfaces; there's two of them, and there's also a USB 3.1 Type-C port as well.

Capacity; Compact design; Interface options; RAID Manager software; 5-year warranty

Pricey; Having to use the power button on the rear panel for RAID change confirmation; Really needs SSD's to get the best of the Thunderbolt 3 interface
