Not the best trackball mouse ever, but it'll do for now

I bought the Kensington Oribit Optical Trackball mouse about 2 weeks ago and have had no problems with it to date. It was easy to hook up, no software to install with it and it's simple to use. The shape of it is nice, it fits right into the palm of your hand very comfortably.

Good value

I was shopping for a replacement for my Microsoft Trackball Explorer (RIP), and this one seemed to come the closest. I'm satisfied with everything except for the hard click sound the buttons make. It makes me feel like I need to press the button down harder than I did with my previous trackball.

Beats my old one.

I had the old mechanical Kensington trackball. This one is much more sensitive and I shouldn't have to clean it like I did the old one.

Great trackball with scroll wheel

I love this trackball. They don't make too many with scroll wheels anymore. You download the software off the site and you can program each button. I programmed to web browse and go back a page by pressing both buttons at once. You can make it do whatever you need to.

User friendly; completely programmable

a little wide

I have a box filled with old cables and mice and etc... I bought them and they just didn't "feel right" or "work right." My hand naturally lays over this trackball and works with very little effort or movement. My next mouse/trackball will be this trackball too!

Kensington Orbit Trackball with Scroll Ring

Trackballs remain a niche product, partly due to the different set of mousing skills they supply, partly due to the price premium that most trackballs command and partly due to the lack of feature parity with even the cheapest mice.

Integrated scroll wheel works really well; Includes wrist rest; Ball can be juggled around for inspiration

Wrist rest may over-extend fingers; Scroll wheel feels a little loose; Still tethered by a cable

It does the job

Its too bad that the TrackBall Explorer is no longer being made. I wanted a trackball for a second computer and choose the Kensington because of the top mounted trackball and scroll capability. It works but will take time to "grow" on me.

Easy Connectivity; Fast Connection; Versatile

Flimsy

Good choice for first-time trackball users

This is an excellent trackball for first-time trackball users that would like to transition from using a mouse. The doctor recommended a trackball to alleviate my wrist pain, and I settled on this Orbit trackball after trying the older Orbit without the scroll ring.

Ergonomic design; Scroll ring that addresses the most frustrating problem with older trackball designs Solid build quality

No software included in the box
