Jabra Elite 85h Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones - Titanium Black 100-99030000-40 review

Active noise-cancelling (ANC) headphones are popular for commuters, office workers, travelers, and those who want to shut out the world for a focused audio experience. In the past, Bose set the bar for ANC-enabled cans with Sony, and others, challenging Bose for market share.

Soft comfortable ear cups; Eight microphones for an optimal experience; SmartSound technology for automatic profile switching; Standard USB-C port for charging; Rain resistant nano-coating; 36 hour rated battery life; $50 less than similar competitors

Bit heavier than competitors

Jabra Elite 85h Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones - Titanium Black 100-99030000-40 review

The Jabra Elite 85h look great, have battery for days and boast some killer features, but it'll have its work cut out to beat the Sony WH-1000XM3.

32 hour battery life; Four different colours; USB-C charging

Feel heavier than the Sony's; Need more convincing on audio quality

Jabra Elite 85h Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones - Titanium Black 100-99030000-40 review

Headphones with noise-cancellation features are quite a hit among business travelers. It is due to them staying in loud open office spaces or areas and frequently commute for a reason. With that, having headphones with such a feature makes their life a little less stressful.

Jabra Elite 85h Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones - Titanium Black 100-99030000-40 review

We already know of Bose and the Sony being the top stars of the noise-canceling headphones world. The QC35 II and the WH-1000XM3s are the go-to cans for great sounding ANCs. However, there are plenty of companies looking to become a new competitor seeking to get into the mix.

Jabra Elite 85h Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones - Titanium Black 100-99030000-40 review

Jabra’s over-ear Active Noise Canceling (ANC) headphones, the Elite 85h, are on sale from both Best Buy and Amazon . This knocks $100 off the original price and brings them down to an easy to recommend $150.

Jabra Elite 85h hands-on review

There’s no doubt that the wireless noise cancelling headphone market is an embarrassment of riches right now, with one model, the aforementioned Sony WH-1000XM3 having dominated since their release at the end of 2018 and then there's the formidable Bose QC35 IIs. So it’ll take a lot for Jabra or indeed anybody to get a look in. However, Jabra’s impressed with how well it’s doing at this early stage. The battery life is immense, hands-free Alexa is a first, and there are some nice bonuses such as rain resistance and adaptive noise cancelling. The proof will be in the final item, which is due April 1st internationally. It’ll cost £280 in the UK, and $300 in the US. Stay tuned for a full review soon...
