If you plan to use it as bedside clock you will find that at night the display is very dim and cannot be changed. Furthermore, the display dims even more if the clock is viewed from below, as is the case when your head is on your pillow. During a sunny day the display is bright and readable, however it's very reflective and difficult to see from some angles. Also if you close the blinds to darken a room the display will automatically dim and becomes almost invisible.

JBL often produce good products in terms of quality of build, form factor and features and this is no exception. The built in light is very handy for times when needing to use the bathroom in the middle of the night or changing and feeding my baby. Having control of two alarms is also helpful. Seperate weekday and weekend alarms can be set. Audio quality rivals most smart speakers of today’s day and age. The display automatically adjusts brightness according to ambient lighting conditions, which is good to keep the bright light out of my face at night. Overall, as an alarm clock or Bluetooth speaker, I highly recommend. If you’re looking for smart features, maybe look into something else.

If you are after a radio and Bluetooth speaker for the kitchen this is a great unit. Display works well and the dual USB ports are really handy for charging. Sound is very good for the size and it looks good too. Would have liked it if it had a DAB+ radio function. Liked it so much I bought a second one as an alarm clock. This is where it falls down. You can't set the alarm volume so the alarm only has one setting: REALLY LOUD. If you need an alarm that will force you to get up quickly to turn it off this is the one for you. If you prefer a more gentle awakening and like to lie in bed and listen to the radio for a while look elsewhere. Button layout is also poor and low profile so hard to locate in a hurry or when dark.

It does everything you want - charges your phone, plays spotify through bluetooth, fm radio, alarm clock, nightlight, really good quality sound (even when at max volume - the little thing can really project) and is just one of the best quality products and really good price on the market.

Was initially hesitant to purchase due to some negative reviews particularly about the display being too dim at night. However, I have found the screen to be quite readable in all light conditions, and have been pleasantly surprised by the large size of the screen. The sound quality is excellent, and the clock is generally of high quality and has an adequate number of functions without being too complicated to use.
