Was debating whether to get this one or the i7-9700k. Glad i choose this one, save me the extra $150. This is also my first unlocked series cpu. Was easily able to OC to 5.1ghz with a flip of a switch, paired with MSI Z390 gaming edge mobo. So far no issues, this thing is BEAST! Very Fast!

Using this in an Asus Prime Z370 II mobo and very happy with the result. It only needed a couple of mouse clicks and running at 4.8Ghz on all cores. Render times on Adobe Premiere are pretty decent, lighting up all 6 cores.

Intel Core i5-9600K

The Core i5-9600K may not have the core-count increases of its higher-priced siblings, but it received a healthy frequency bump over its predecessor, coupled with hardware patches to some vulnerabilities. We already proved that the i7-9700K is the best gaming CPU by Intel.

Practically same gaming performance as i7-9700K and i9-9900K at any resolution; High performance in less-parallelized or single-threaded workloads; Reasonably high multi-threaded performance; Unlocked multiplier; Integrated graphics; Supports up to 128 GB memory

Expensive; made worse by high DIY retail channel pricing; Lacks HyperThreading; No cooler included; unlike competition

fast

Perfect, the system I built is perfect for my needs, its very fast, I could have opted for the I-7 but this processor has everything the I-7 has less a few lanes of traffic, and using the coffee lake i5-9600k gives me just about the same end results with the overclocking capability, highly recommend...

Intel Coffee Lake Core i5 9600K 6 Core 3.7Ghz 9MB LGA 1151 6 Core/ 6 Threads, WITHOUT Cooler , Intel 300 Series Motherboard required

Moving from a 4th gen processor to this was a good performance boost. Especially with running my Virtual Machines.

I know its more cores, but this sucker is cooking in the 80's with a massive 2 tower air cooler on a full load. [EDIT] After more testing and a application of better TIM, Temps are well under 60's on ful load for longer then an hour.

Intel Core i5 9600K processor review

The Core i5 9600K, arguably is merely a Coffee Lake-S series refresh, in essence, an 8700K lacking hyper-threading. So from a threading performance point of view, it is not surprising to see this processor somewhere in the middle of everything.
