Huawei Watch GT

The Huawei Watch GT is a smartwatch in name only. It tracks fitness metrics like heart rate, activity, and sleep, and also provides detailed insight on the physical state of your body, making it a solid choice if you're looking for the features of a fitness tracker in the body of a smartwatch.

Sleek design; Excellent battery life; Solid fitness tracking

No third-party apps; Big for small wrists; Lacks NFC and Wi-Fi

Huawei Watch GT Review: Show me the apps

It feels like a watch, looks like a watch, but is the Huawei Watch GT a real smartwatch It's the question that loomed over the device throughout my time with it. Off the bat, Huawei wants users to make both a sacrifice and a commitment with its latest wearable: know that you're not getting any...

Attractive design; Great battery life; User-friendly

No third-party apps; Too big for women; Finding it in retail

Huawei Watch GT Review

Huawei's $199.99 Watch GT looks and sounds like a smartwatch, but it's really a fitness tracker in disguise. Running Huawei's barebones LiteOS operating system, there's no support for third-party apps. Instead you get activity and sleep tracking, continuous heart rate monitoring, and GPS. It's well suited for outdoor exercise, thanks to its scratch-resistant case and sport modes like trail runs and climbs. It's a solid choice if you want the functionality of a fitness tracker in the style of a smartwatch, as long as you aren't expecting too much in the latter department. Design and Display The Huawei Watch GT is surprisingly rugged given its sleek design. Its stainless steel case and ceramic bezel are wrapped in a carbon coating, making it resistant to scratches even in extreme environments. With a 5 ATM waterproof rating, you can wear it in the shower and in the pool. It comes in two color combinations—black stainless steel with a black silicone wrist strap, pictured here, or sil...

Huawei's Watch GT is a decent fitness tracker disguised as a smartwatch. While its size isn't suitable for all wrists, its GPS, durability, and long battery life make it a good companion for outdoor workouts.

Sleek design; Excellent battery life; Solid fitness tracking

No third-party apps; Big for small wrists; Lacks NFC and Wi-Fi

I love this watch. I've had mine a little while now and the battery lasts an average of 10 days with constant heart rate monitoring, GPS for exercising, alarms, notifications and 5 second watchface display time turned on.

Huawei Watch GT review

Huawei has spotted what it believes is a gap in the wearables market, and has created the Watch GT to fill it. What is it? It’s not a smartwatch that runs Google’s Wear OS, a hybrid smartwatch, or a fitness tracker. It fits somewhere in-between, and shows what Huawei has been working on while it takes a sabbatical from Wear OS watches. The Watch GT isn’t a hybrid smartwatch because it has a touchscreen. But it occupies the space between fitness tracker and full smartwatch in a similar way. If all this sounds a little confusing, we agree, and it aptly sums up the watch overall. Huawei understands how to make a good-looking smartwatch. The original Huawei Watch is a design triumph, and still stands tall among smartwatches released today. The Watch GT isn’t as beautiful, is considerably more masculine, but it’s still very watch-like. If you like sportier watches, then the Watch GT’s look will appeal, much like the Huawei Watch 2. We like it, and find its understated style refreshing. The ...

This watch is stylish, stylish, and lightweight to be 46mm. However, what is really annoying is the vibration motor, which rattles like a marque when it comes to a call or a message.
