Huawei Mate 20 X Review

Seven whole inches sounds like quite a handful, doesn't it. When we're talking about the screen on a smartphone, it certainly is. Or rather, it certainly was. Cast your mind back to the Nexus 7 tablet from Google , which had a 7-inch screen, and was in no way suitable for one-handed use.

Surprisingly compact; Massive battery; True gaming credentials; Beautiful large screen

Very large body; Inconvenient to carry around all the time; Expensive

Huawei Mate 20 review

The question is, does the Mate 20 deserve to exist in a world in which the Mate 20 Pro is a thing Yes. Yes it does. It offers much of what makes the Mate 20 Pro great at a lower price, and adds a headphone jack.

Excellent battery life; Incredible power for the price; Versatile stills and video camera

Full HD+ screen resolution is low; IPS screen inferior to flagship AMOLEDs; No IP68 water and dust resistance

Huawei Mate 20 first look: Say hello to the ‘Dewdrop' notch

Launching alongside the is the Huawei Mate 20: a less exuberant device that lacks some of its pricier sibling's key features but keeps the packed camera and high-end Kirin 980 chipset. It also brings an interesting design flourish to the party in the form of a ‘Dewdrop' notch.

Mate 20 hands-on: Huawei's attempt to strike a happy medium

Somewhere between Lite and Pro there's the perfect middle ground, at least in Huawei's Mate series. But "middle" doesn't necessarily have to mean "mediocre" because the Mate 20 has a lot to offer. In our first test we'll see how this XXL smartphone fares.

Huawei Mate 20 review: One of the best phones the US is missing out on

Huawei's Mate 20 Pro might take the company's ultimate flagship title this generation, but the slightly lower-end Mate 20 is still a phone worth considering with its own strengths.

Cameras Incredibly versatile with three focal lengths; produce fantastic photos; Build quality Samsung-level fit and finish; with more attractive colors to boot; Screen Among the best IPS panels I've ever seen; Design Stunningly close to the all-screen dream; Headphone jack Great to see it included,...

Software EMUI is still difficult to use coming from most other Android skins/ROMs, Availability The Mate 20 isn't coming to the US, and unlocked vs; carrier availability in other markets is inconsistent, Price It starts at 800€ for the 4GB model (~$900 at the time of writing) which is a good chunk...

The Huawei Mate 20 wants to be your daily companion

Usually, the difference between Huawei's P series of smartphones and the Mate lineup was that the former concentrated more on the photo taking capabilities whereas the latter focused on pure performance and processing power.

Huawei Mate 20 review: Great all around, but it lives in the shadow of the Pro

Reviewing the Huawei Mate 20 really reminded me of when I reviewed the P20 . The reason is because it's an awesome phone, but no one really notices it because it's overshadowed by a Pro version that's even more awesome.
