Awesome monitor if you're using the DisplayPort

This is a great monitor for color accurate video work - as long as you are using the DisplayPort. Detail and color looks great. I tested the HDMI and it looked horrible - details were strangle over-sharpened, missing contrast etc. etc.

HP DreamColor Z27x

Ask any graphics pro what they look for in a monitor and they'll likely put color and/or gray-scale accuracy at the top of the list. With the HP DreamColor Z27X, you get both, as well as inky blacks, loads of features, and an impressive settings menu with calibration support.

Very accurate colors; Excellent gray-scale performance; Deep blacks; Six-port USB hub; Dual DisplayPort connections; Integrated calibration software

Expensive; Lacks auto-rotate support

Amazingly Good

This is an amazing monitor; Rich colors, clear, no dead/partial pixels; If you are thinking of moving up from consumer grade to 'pro' grade this is THE monitor to get; Picture, web pages, etc., look great and even stunning but even games aren't bad..

Price, but you do really get your money's worth; When I see a "normal" monitor's display now, I cringe to think about what I was staring at all those years

Great monitor but not optimised for Mac so all text looks terrible on it - including every website. Hp have not made any drivers for it and have said its optimised for Windows. However it renders video beautifully, you can tilt adjust height and rotate and it's good for grading

HP DreamColor Z27x

The HP DreamColor Z27x is a top-end monitor, intended primarily for designers and other creative types who need serious colour accuracy. At this point it may seem a stop-gap before OLED monitors are within reach of those without a company credit card and an "anything goes" expenses policy.

Excellent sRGB and Adobe RGB coverage; Zero-effort colour gamut switching; Inbuilt recalibration (with a colorimeter; Versatile; solid-feeling stand

Typical IPS LCD contrast and black level; Doesn't hit 100 percent of DCI P3; Response times won't please gamers

HP Z27x Dreamcolor Professional Display

HP's new Z27x DreamColor supports all the important color gamuts and carries some distinctly unique features. This screen simply blows us away. When you go sit down to watch a Hollywood blockbuster like Transformers: Age of Extinction or Edge of Tomorrow, most of what you see on the screen...

Internal calibration engine; super-accurate; support for DCI and Rec.2020 (partial) gamuts; solid build quality; terrific value

Would be even better as a 32-inch screen; no OSD calibration options

HP DreamColor Z27x professional LCD monitor review

The HP DreamColor Z27x is a high-performance 2.5K monitor suited to some professional applications. As a company HP is entrenched in Windows, where the panel worked better than with the graphic designer's traditional choice of Mac OS.
