HP ScanJet Pro 3500 f1 Flatbed Scanner

Conclusion The HP ScanJet Pro 3500 f1 Flatbed Scanner has the chops for up to medium-duty scanning in a very small office, and offers the versatility of both flatbed and sheet-fed scanning.

LCD for selecting scan profiles; Flatbed and 100-sheet ADF; Supports USB 3.0; Good software suite

Very slow in scanning to searchable PDF with default settings

I didn't realize a scanner at this price point could do such a poor job of photo resolution. it doesn't matter what settings I use, the contrast is too strong and there seems to be no way to fix it. Even changing contrast has little effect on the results.

Great with some limitations

Very good looking small size unit but with the standard 3.5" color display. A great value for the money. I did receive incorrect directions twice, but this is known to happen sometimes. I was only able to store 50 address before I ran out of memory.

Nice size; good display; great value at $300 or less

Limited memory and battery time

HP ScanJet Pro 3500 f1 Flatbed Scanner review

Selling standalone scanners in this day and age is becoming increasingly challenging. Blame it on the rise of digital processes – which bypass any physical medium (paper and ink) – or the advent of cheaper, more affordable, and dare we say, better value-for-money all in one printing/scanning...

One of the cheapest flatbeds out there; Impressive scan speeds; Has an automatic document feeder

It's a hefty device; Paper handling issues; There are simply better options for many

Quick and efficient for the money

Arrived quickly and worked immediately. This is my first ADF and its speed amazed me, as well as two-sided OCR. I was not concerned about fast when I ordered, going for what I knew would work well (I am an HP fan in general).

Not Super Pleased

Product is quirky. It has disconnects for no solid reason a great deal. Costs a lot of time. I thought I was investing in a very solid scanner. Problematic.

Images are poor quality

I returned this to the store because the image quality was too poor. When I scanned color photos, the resulting image had a kind of ghostly cross-hatching that wasn't in the original image.

HP ScanJet Pro 3500 f1 Flatbed Scanner Review

The HP ScanJet Pro 3500 f1 Flatbed Scanner ($549.99) is a versatile document scanner that includes both a flatbed and an automatic document feeder (ADF). This scanner, which supports USB 3.0, is a good choice for light to medium-duty scanning in a micro office or a small workgroup. The 3500 ($548.90 at Amazon) doesn't have the speed, especially in scanning to searchable PDF, as some comparable scanners such as the the Editors' Choice Canon imageFormula DR-2020U , but it offers more than enough for the needs of most micro offices. Design and Features At 5.7 by 18.1 by 15.2 inches (HWD) and 12.3 pounds, the 3500 is too large to comfortably fit on a desk. On top is a 50-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) for scanning multipage documents. Using the ADF, the maximum optical resolution is 600 dots per inch (dpi). The letter-size flatbed has a higher 1,200dpi resolution. The 3500 has a recommended daily duty cycle of up to 3,000 pages, making it fit for heavier-duty scanning than th...
