Google Pixel 4 XL

As the most leaked phone in phoneland, the Pixel 4 and 4 XL held few surprises when Google finally unveiled them on Oct. 15 . We knew it would have a new facial recognition feature ( here's how the Pixel 4's face unlock compared to the iPhone 11's Face ID when we tested both in four typical...

The Pixel 4 XL has a big screen that refreshes 90 times a second, so everything looks real smooth; It also takes outstanding photos, and its face unlock is the fastest we've seen

The phone is expensive; doesn't come with earbuds and has no expandable storage option

Google Pixel 4 XL review: the big wait for software updates

With the new Pixel 4 XL , Google leaves the paths of the previous Pixel generations. New design, a second camera, and instead of a fingerprint sensor only Face Unlock and a radar chip, which allows for motion control. Are these qualities that make this one of the best smartphones for 2019

Great camera; Fast fluid display; Pure Android; Innovative Motion Sense; Jagged Face Unlock

Many functions are waiting for software updates; Motion Sense still limited in use; Battery life only satisfactory

Google Pixel 4 and 4 XL Review: A small step forward

The Pixel 4 and 4 XL, Google's latest flagships, are here. After months of leaks and speculation, the most highly anticipated and intensely scrutinized Android handset of the year is about to be available.

90Hz display; Improved camera; Excellent design

Poor battery; Motion Sense isn't reliable; Missing features in Canada

Google Pixel 4 XL review

The Google Pixel 4 XL is still the best Android camera phone… ish...

Excellent point-and-shoot camera; Astrophotography mode impresses; Matte glass finish feels great

Expensive; given the hardware; Low storage capacity options; Occasional UI gremlins

Google Pixel 4 XL

Google Pixel 4 XL is the larger variant of the standard Pixel 4 , as well as the direct successor of the Pixel 3 XL of October 2018. This unit brings a larger display, better quad-HD+ resolution and even a bigger battery.

Give it time...

The great: fast face unlock, absurd night photography and great zoom, as well as better portrait mode and all around fast/awesome camera; fast performance overall, I personally like the design, pure Android, The good: Motion sense wave to dismiss alarm is way better than searching for buttons in the...

Google Pixel 4 XL review: Look mum, no hands

Once again it's the camera that sings in the Pixel 4 XL. It's a pleasure to use and now paired up with a great display, it's a really compelling experience when it comes to capturing photos and video on your phone.

Camera performance; Pure Android software; Exclusive smart features; Wonderful display

Battery life is average; Motion Sense gestures add little to nothing; No wide-angle camera; No app support for face unlock; Low storage

Google Pixel 4XL Smartphone Review

The Google Pixel 4XL is the latest flagship/premium smartphone to arrive from Google and as the name suggests, it's the fourth generation Google smartphone (not including the Pixel 3a/3a XL introduced earlier this year) and with it, a few upgrades have been introduced which include an extra camera,...

Excellent image quality; Easy to take great photos; Impressive Night Sight mode; Great screen; Solid build

The battery is disappointing; No MicroSD slot to expand the memory; No headphone socket; Clipping issues on some portraits; No fingerprint scanner

Google Pixel 4 XL Review: A hard sell

With the big uplift in excellent camera phones at varying prices this year, it's no longer good enough for Google to simply have an "okay" phone with an "amazing" camera. And Google knows it. With the Pixel 4 XL, Google takes many more risks.

Excellent camera for photos; Grippy body is a nice change from the usual; highly polished flagships; Smooth Display is a significant upgrade; Great software

Disappointing battery life; Lack of ultra-wide camera is a shame; Motion Sense features are currently limited; Storage options only up to 128GB

Google Pixel 4 XL review

The Google Pixel 4 XL is a handsome phone in its simplicity that, by the same coin, feels less impressive than its Android flagship counterparts. It doesn't help that its new standout features are inessential, and erratically functional.

Top-of-the-line cameras; Simple; no-nonsense design

Face Unlock is finicky; no fingerprint sensor; Low storage options; Battery life is barely adequate
