My older phones had easy ways to connect video output to HDMI, and then to a large TV screen. My current phone does not support MHL output, and does not have a micro HDMI port, so Chromecast is the ONLY way to display the screen contents of my phone on an alternate screen according to manufacturer's...

Does what I need it to do

This version of chromecast will work with hd content. The higher spec device is for 4k. It is a very useful device easily moved from one TV to another or fitted onto a projector without any difficulty. It is small and more convenient than carrying around an xbox in your pocket.

Chromecast 2018 review: A cheap way to make your TV smart

In truth, there's very little to get excited about with the new Chromecast – the addition of 1080p 60fps streaming is hardly worth shouting about – but that doesn't stop it from being one of the cheapest and best ways to add smart functionality to a TV or monitor.

Cheap; Works with lots of apps; Google Home integration

No UI or physical remote; No 4K support

Google Chromecast (3rd Generation) Review: Faster, But Not Better

The new Google Chromecast is fast and intuitive, but the attractive little dongle is behind the times.

Fast performance; Inexpensive; Intuitive interface

Boring; stripped-down design; Still no Amazon Video; No significant improvements over second gen

Small but perfectly formed

I bought one of these to use with my smart TV so that I could stream Disney Life, however we're now using instead of the smart features as it's much smoother. Have also bought a second one for my daughters bedroom.

The original Google Chromecast was introduced in 2013 and was an inexpensive and convenient way to stream content to your TV. The Chromecast 2 followed in 2015 and enjoyed a rather long shelf life.

Great Item to have on your television

My daughter showed me her Chromecast a year and and it was interesting. Bought one to try and love it. The ability to transfer images, videos, etc from your phone/tablet/computer is an amazing thing and especially makes watching you tube videos enjoyable.
