Is an incredibly flexible product! Has struggled a few times, but for 400 bucks there is absolutely nothing to complain about
The second-generation is nearly three-years-old now, and Google has decided that now's the right time to give it a (very minor) makeover. So how do you improve on close-to-perfection
I bought one of these to use with my smart TV so that I could stream Disney Life, however we're now using instead of the smart features as it's much smoother. Have also bought a second one for my daughters bedroom.
For years Chromecast has been the best value in HD streaming video players, and that hasn’t changed with the 3rd Generation model that released in 2018. If you want to turn any TV into a smart TV capable of streaming Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video and many, many more, this is the cheapest - and...
Marginally faster streaming; Nifty; versatile design; Same low price
Doesn’t stream in 4K; No remote control
The newest version of Google Chromecast is basically identical to the old one and falls short of the budget competition from Amazon and Roku.
The super-affordable Chromecast streams Netflix, YouTube, Spotify, Pandora, HBO Now and thousands of other apps and games to your TV using an smartphone, PC or even voice as the controller; It hides neatly behind your TV.
The lack of a dedicated remote means you always need a smartphone, tablet or PC nearby to use it; Competitors at the same price offer physical remotes and onscreen displays, which are easier to use; There still no app support for Amazon Prime Video.
The Chromecast is still a great streaming device, but there are 4K options that don't cost much more....
I've had the chromecast for around a month now and I like it. I can watch my youtube videos and anime episodes on the lounge television now, it's been fun watching stuff on the lounge tv instead of my smaller laptop screen. Also with the setup, it was quick. Plugged it in, connected it to my phone and I was done. I've tried casting from my oculus quest to the chromecast but apparently it was slow and laggy (according to the people who were in the lounge with me), but I think this is just a problem with the network and not the chromecast itself. If you have a smart tv you shouldn't need to buy a chromecast (this stuff should be built into the tv) but if your tv isn't a smart tv than you should get a chromecast
So easy to use and love that I can play Netflix, Disney + and most apps all from my phone! Would recommend to anyone wanting to covert their TV to a Smart TV. Quick delivery as well
Great device for casting to a non smart tv, good purchase for anyone wanting to stream videos to their tv.
