Use this small HDMI dongle to get YouTube and other Google content onto the big screen

The long-awaited Google Chromecast is now available to purchase in select Australian retail stores for the modest sum of $49. It's a device that can make it very easy for you to enjoy YouTube and other Google content on your big screen TV.

Small and easy to install; Best suited for streaming YouTube content to a TV

Not a good solution for streaming locally stored video files

Google Chromecast: Australian Review

There's always something that you've seen on the Internet that you want to show your friends; there's always some video or music on your Android phone that deserves a wider audience. Google Chromecast easily and simply enables that - it doesn't do much more, but it doesn't need to.

Amazing Product

When it comes to entertainment, this little device brings the big party. The house recently got a new television and it came with a roku streaming stick, however it would not connect to the wifi connection (after several attempts) so I began reviewing similar products and came across the Google...

Chromecast expert review

Chromecast is extremely easy to set up and use, and ideal for anyone who spends a regular amount of time in front of the screen. At £29.99 it's a considerably less pricey alternative to AppleTV (£99) and the Roku box (£49.99).

Google Chromecast review

A brilliant, low-cost add-on for Android device users in particular, providing a blissfully simple way to beam video from your device to the big screen. People who want to stream their own media collection should look elsewhere. The Chromecast is cheap and easy to use, but there aren’t many apps that support it yet. This situation is bound to change over the coming months, but for now you might find your existing smart TV offers more.

Terrific product

I wasn't sure that this device would work with my multi-computer setup. It works like a dream. I can operate all my systems from a laptop and see everything on the big screen. I am thrilled with the product. Thanks guys.

Small Size With Huge Potential

Google's Chromecast is a brilliant addition to any TV! The old method of plugging your computer into the TV to display content and videos seems so primitive now as it is so easy to show content from a device on your network to your TV wirelessly.

super simple setup; easy to cast websites; fast loading times; high quality video

few sites support chromecast nativly; local content isn't supported out of the box

Google Chromecast review (UK edition)

When Google first announced the Chromecast -- its answer to Apple TV -- last July, the internet went wild for it. It was cheap, compatible with iOS and Android, and offered really cool mirroring capabilities.

Ease of setup; discreet design; no need for an extra remote; price

Poor selection of compatible apps
