Chromecast (2015) review: A more well-rounded streaming device from Google

When Google created the Chromecast, they took a little bit of a different tack on a streaming media device. Instead of trying to build in services and platforms, the Chromecast is focused solely on providing a wireless connection between a user's devices and their television.

Chromecast 2.0: What's New?

For my money, there's no better way to consume media on a TV than by hooking up a PC directly, but that's not practical in all cases. But at the same price point of just $35, Google is taking the best parts of the Chromecast and expanding on them.

Chromecast vs Chromecast 2

The new Chromecast app is out already, and as far as we know, all of its new features work with the old Chromecast. That means that – aside from the new design and Wi-Fi – the two Chromecasts are basically the same. Which means existing owners shouldn't rush to upgrade.

Google Chromecast HDMI Streaming Device

I was browsing Amazon a few days ago when I saw the listing for the Google Chromecast, which was one of the most popular items on the website. According to the product's description, the Chromecast could stream online music and video to any television with an HDMI out, using a tablet, laptop, or...

Chromecast 2 by Google is now available in Australia. Offering significant improvements over the original Chromecast. The original Chromecast was a beauty of a product. A sleek, compact, easy-to-use, easy-to-setup companion device to stream files from a compatible device or web browser.

Chromecast 2.0 review

I purchased a Chromecast 2.0 last week and set about putting it to the test to see what was different from the original product. The answer has been not too terribly much from a user standpoint thus far, but that's not a bad thing.

I was part of the Google fans who were ecstatic when Google announced the original Chromecast . I mean, it was nothing revolutionary, but something that was genuinely missing. Especially as the wireless world dominates ever-so, unifying our mobile devices and TV was an important step.

Google's Chromecast is one of the biggest releases they've had in the past few years, since Google announced the original back in 2014 they've sold over 20 million of them. But the original model had some flaws and alongside the 2015 Nexus launch, Google announced a new generation of Chromecast to...

Two years ago the Google god in the sky gave unto us a $35 dollar media-streaming dongle, and lo, it was good . Pretty good anyway, and it got better with software updates, but it still has lagging tendencies. Well, it's 2015 baby, so what's the new Chromecast got? Less lag! And...

Google still doesn't have a remote control for Chromecast, which makes it the only streamer I can think of that doesn't have one; You have to use your phone, tablet, or computer, which can be a pain in the arse, especially if you have to enter a password first.

Google Chromecast 2.0 HDMI BLACK - The easiest way to enjoy online video and music on your TV

It's a great little gadget to have and I definitely recommend if you don't/can't use an HDMI from your computer. It's very convenient being able to control things from your tablet/phone.
