Fitbit Charge 4 Rosewood Aluminium FB417BYBY review

I can’t help but wish the Charge 4 was $125 instead of $150—especially since the Versa Lite is just $160—but if you’re patient, you’ll be able to get at or near that price soon enough. If you can get it on sale, that’s just a bonus.

Top-notch fitness; health; and sleep tracking; Excellent battery life; even with GPS switched on; Standard GPS and NFC add value

Plastic body is a downgrade from the metal Charge 3; No third party apps or music storage

The Fitbit Charge 4 isn't flashy or classy, but it does what it's supposed to and looks good doing it.

Fitbit Charge 4 review

The Fitbit Charge 4 looks almost identical to its predecessor, including the grayscale touchscreen, but the addition of built-in GPS makes a huge difference, and helps make it a viable alternative to fully-fledged running watches if you enjoy working out for fun and health, but don't need a torrent of data on splits, cadence and elevation.

No price increase from Charge 3; Built-in GPS; Heart rate zone tracking;

Monochrome display; No design update

Fitbit Charge 4 review

The Fitbit Charge 4 boasts some great features, especially personalised Active Zone Minutes - a motivational fitness metric to aim for. It’s our new favourite all-round Fitbit tracker, bests the Versa 2 smartwatch with its built-in GPS, and even matches the Versa 3 in many ways.

Fully featured; GPS; Lightweight; Waterproof;

Monochrome display;

Fitbit Charge 4 Rosewood Aluminium FB417BYBY review

The Fitbit Charge 4 is well worth the $150 price tag, it is a premium fitness tracker that packs many features into a beautiful package. The embedded GPS introduces wonderful opportunities for standalone use, though it needs some polishing.

Fitbit Charge 4 Black Aluminium FB417BKBK review

Onwards and upwards, as the motto goes for any tech product, the Fitbit Charge 4 is the latest evolution of a Fitbit classic. The original launched back in 2014, and has evolved quite a bit over the last 6 years.

Fitbit Charge 4 Rosewood Aluminium FB417BYBY review

For many people, Fitbit is synonymous with fitness trackers, but the company has faced new challenges from smartwatches in recent years. The Fitbit Charge 4 signifies a change, even if it doesn't look too different from its predecessor.

Battery life Even with an always-active connection and notification mirroring, I got more than seven days of usage out of the device without GPS tracking; Built-in GPS Combined with the NFC payment service, the band makes it possible to stop by a bakery or café when you're out running without...

Display While the necessity of a colored interface on a fitness band is debatable; competitors like the Garmin vívosport and the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 reach similar battery life with colored OLED displays and lower prices.

Fitbit Charge 4 Rosewood Aluminium FB417BYBY review

The Fitbit Charge 4 is the best fitness tracker you can buy, period. Fitbit didn't need to do much to achieve this title again, but it managed to fix all our gripes with the Charge 3 and keep it at the same price point. The built-in GPS is welcome, as is Fitbit Pay being standard across all models.

Sleek; customizable design Good battery life Built-in GPS Fitbit Pay now standard on all models Sleep tracking is fantastic (Mostly) accurate GPS and heart rate sensors

Finicky inductive button GPS can take its time to lock on Heart rate sensor can be laggy
