Fitbit Ace review

That the Ace exists is clearly a good thing. Everyone knows there’s an obesity epidemic in the UK, and anything that encourages children to be active is to be applauded. Kids will like wearing it, and from their point of view it’s a simple and effective device. It’s also well built and relatively affordable, which will please most parents, but sadly they won’t be so happy about the Fitbit app’s obvious deficiencies. No, an app isn’t what you’re paying for here, but it is central enough to the experience that I can’t overlook its shortcomings. Perhaps for slighter older kids, who do have their own smartphones, it wouldn't be so much of a drawback.

Excellent build quality; Gets your kids moving; Simple for them to use;

Poor app implementation; Too many features are phone-only; Lack of child-friendly designs;

Fitbit Ace review

Activity trackers are a great way to improve our motivation to get fitter, and so we’re delighted that Fitbit has relaxed its age limitations and recognised children as a core group that benefit from being more active, and getting motivation to make their lifestyles healthier. The Fitbit Ace is a great starter activity tracking wristband, and the family views and challenges bring the whole family together. Kids needn’t be restricted to choosing just the Ace, however, as the other Fitbits will work (and fit) just as well with smaller people – but the family settings work only with the Ace.

Fitbit Ace Review

In 2019, it's more common to see kids glued to their smartphones and tablets than it is to see them playing outside. The Fitbit Ace, the company's first fitness tracker for kids ages eight and up, is attempting to change this by making it fun and easy for kids to stay active, rewarding them with badges and trophies for their accomplishments. Using a connected app, parents can access their kids' activity and help give them a motivational boost through personal messages and emojis. The Ace tracks basic metrics, including steps, active minutes, and hours of sleep, and sports a sleek design kids will actually want to wear, all of which helps make it worth the $99.95 price. An Alta by Any Other Name The Fitbit Ace closely mirrors the Fitbit Alta in size and design. As with the Alta, the Ace features a stainless steel tracking device that measures 1.30 by 0.51 by 1.90 inches (HWD). It's on the thicker side, but doesn't look too bulky even on my tiny (basically child-sized) wrist. For t...
