ive used it in close proximity the the router but it wont reach the distance through the walls where i live (solid brick) so im going to have to buy a different one with more distance maybe a N600 ac but dont have one in mind yet as forthis i will use it for updates only cos i certainly cant take it...

The model listed was an EW-7811Un, but the model I received was an EW-7612UAn V2. But it worked for the access point Raspberry Pi project I needed it for, and so it should for you too.
