Dell Ultrasharp 49-inch monitor (U4919DW) Review

You don't need the Ultrasharp 49, but you'll want it. You'll want it so, so bad.

My god; it's huge; Sharp resolution; Solid all-around image quality; Lots of connectivity

Extremely high price; No HDR or frame sync technology

Awesome lcd

I swapped it for the Samsung 49' ...to be honest this looks rich in sharpness, Samsung only looks more vivid I use it for programming I get ~30 more lines than a 1080... It's pretty close to oled depending on the angle you are seeing it. The assembly is a non brainer. And it has a lot of USBs

Dell UltraSharp 49 Curved Monitor (U4919DW) Review

In the wake of Samsung's release of its CHG90 49-inch ultra-wide gaming monitor and its 2019 follow-on, the CRG9, other monitor makers have been announcing massively wide monitors of their own, though few have yet come to market. We got our hands on Dell's UltraSharp 49 Curved Monitor (U4919DW), put it through its paces, and were not disappointed. On sheer size, this feature-packed 49-inch panel is a thing of wonder, and it performs well. It's a top choice, ironically, not for gamers or video hounds but productivity workers who need to have lots of windows visible onscreen at the same time, side by side. If you have the space and executive-size desk for this huge panel, and the deep budget to pay for it, it's a worthwhile investment. But other, more economical alternatives may prove more appealing to you. This 49er Is an Ultrawide Receiver The heart of the U4919DW is its 49-inch (measured on the diagonal) ultra-wide screen. The panel employs in-plane switching (IPS) technology,...

Dell's costly UltraSharp 49 Curved Monitor (U4919DW) is a huge, ultra-wide business display ideal for titanic spreadsheets or keeping loads of windows open side by side.

Hyper-wide high-res screen; Ideal for multitasking; Plenty of input ports; USB-C port can charge devices, including laptops; KVM-switch feature

Pricey; Horizontal sprawl overwhelms all but the biggest desks; No HDR or adaptive-sync support

Ultra Wide: Worthy luxury ...

I purchased this monitor with a specific purpose in mind and it more than lives up to what I need it to do. Slightly more curve would make it even better. 9.5 / 10!

The best purchase ever

This is probably the best purchase I've ever made. It perfectly solved all of my issues: 1. Clean cable management - you only need one USB C cable for charging and displaying and you can plug all of your peripherals to the monitor. 2. Much more space than my old setup (2 x 24'' monitors) 3. Convenient layout management using Dell Display Manager 4. No more bezels in the middle It would be even better if it is slightly more curvy but I can't complain about what I've got now.

Dell Ultrasharp 49 review

How wide can your monitor be? Well, that depends. How wide is your desk? Samsung’s 49-inch CHG90 ultrawide, released in fall of 2017, challenged everyone’s assumptions about how large a monitor should be. Now, a year later, Dell is taking up that challenge with its own ultrawide, the Ultrasharp U4919DW (better known as the Ultrasharp 49). This massive monitor is the same size as the Samsung, but it’s also very different. Its 5,120 x 1,440 resolution is higher, its 60Hz maximum refresh rate is lower, and its 3800R curve is less dramatic. Though similar size, and this is a different beast with an impressive $1,700 price to match. Is this the ultimate monitor? Or has Dell gone too far? If you’ve ever worked in an office, or even stepped inside on, you’ve likely laid eyes on a Dell Ultrasharp monitor. These popular displays are known for sturdy but buttoned-up design that puts function over form, and the Ultrasharp U4919DW doesn’t break the mold. That’s not say this is an ugly monitor. In ...
