Our friends from D-Link has been pretty consistent in sending us items for review, with the brand mostly focusing on IP cameras lately. Although there aren't many who see the need to have one of these, an IP camera is great if you have that paranoid streak and want to keep an eye on your safe at...

The camera is tiny and you can actually store videos after 24 hours in free subscription.

I did some research before buying this and from previous reviews set this up using the new mydlink app and not the one that was shown in the instructions. Set up was pretty straight forward and connects to wi-if. It works pretty much as it should.

Small Wi-Fi Camera from D-Link

Recently a range of small home security cameras have been received to review. The trend is for them to be Wi-Fi operated so requiring where you place them just needs to be within the reach of a power point, this is one such device.

D-Link DCS-8000LH Smart Wi-Fi Camera, 720p, 120° Viewing Angle, Night Vision, Motion and sound detection

I got this camera to tinker with and use the rtsp and http access channels. D-Link have silently removed these features with the 2.0 version so you are unable to use them. It's a locked down plug and play camera that uploads to D-Link cloud storage only.

I really like the small size of the camera. It was also easy to setup via the app. I am really disappointed in the email alerts. It sends a link to the live camera view only, no picture is included. I have a DCS-930, 932 and 933 that do more. They can send pictures of what the alert was for.

Bought cheap and the camera does exactly what I expected. Very good and clear picture, very easy installation. If you want a more advanced camera, you may have to pay a little more ...
