The best camera I've ever had

I bought this camera for photographing my hike on the John Muir Trail in California. The quality of the photos amaze me and there are just so many options. My favorite feature is the Star shooting mode, I've never had a camera where you can actually catch stars or any night time scenery. AMAZING!

Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II

The Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II is a new premium compact camera, featuring the same one-inch type, 20.2 million pixel CMOS sensor as 2015's original G9 X model. The Canon G9 X Mark II now offers a new Digic VII image processor, Dual Sensing Image Stabilisation with 3.5-stops of correction,...

Canon G9X Mark II

The Canon G9X II is a solid pocket camera. It is easy to use and has a very compact form factor. Image quality has been improved compared to its predecessor and the G9X II is faster as well.

Impressive image quality; Improved JPEGs and good high ISO quality for its class; Compact camera body; Fast maximum aperture; Reliable autofocus; Improved performance

No tilting display; No viewfinder; Lens is not very wide; Slow buffer clearing; Mediocre battery life

Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II review

While there's now a decent selection of premium 1.0-inch sensor compact cameras to choose from, the Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II sets itself apart thanks to its dinky proportions.

Compact size; Simple to use; Premium finish; Large; 1.0-inch sensor; Decent connectivity

Only 1080p video capture; Touch interface not for everyone; Limited zoom range

love it

Great for general purpose shooting and for studies with the idea of returning for higher quality images with better gear. Great image quality but if they could get a g7 lens in it or whatever fuji uses in the z100 it would be ideal

Great little travel camera. Light weight compact and fast shutter.

Easily fits in your pocket; Fast shutter, lightweight

Would be nice to have a bigger zoom

Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II

There is some stiff competition in this space. You can get the older Sony RX100 II for about the same price and enjoy a longer zoom range, but you won't get a touch screen. The next model up in Canon's line, the G7 X Mark II , is more expensive, but features an articulating touch LCD and a brighter,...

Crisp lens; 1-inch image sensor; 8.1fps image capture; Touch LCD; Built-in ND filter; In-camera art filters; Wi-Fi; Quite compact

Pricey; Short zoom; Narrow aperture when zoomed; No 60fps video option

Can't Get Photos

The camera is small and takes great photos, which does absolutely no good unless they can be transferred to a computer or phone! The wifi function is glitchy. Called Canon. They had me download another software patch that is so complicated I can't get it to work.

Canon G9X Mark II

The Canon G9X Mark II is a huge advance on its predecessor and fixes its most problematic faults. It may not be the best choice for creative photographers, but as a casual snapshot camera it's very good indeed.

Slimline; pocketable design; Good image quality from 1-inch sensor; Well-implemented touchscreen; Excellent in-camera JPEG processing

Unambitious lens; Limited physical controls; No 4K video recording
