Great value for money

I brought this today and it was easy to set up, it took around 20 mins from opening the box to doing the first test print. The printer is a little slow and noisy. Black printed well and sharp, however, colour prints is pretty ordinary.

Best to throw away the old printer once it runs out of cartridge ink... it's easier to buy a replacement printer like this one. The printer manufactures all made in China anyway - so don't expect them to last. Best option is to buy the latest new one for what you need.

Easy Set Up Like All Canon Printers.

Bought this budget model printer for my parents recently, mainly for use as a copier. Walked my father through the installation over the phone, easy, including print head alignment. It would have been better if there was an actual instruction manual though. He says copying quality is excellent. He just wishes he could adjust copy darkness on the machine itself. Good value for money. Click and Collect service for him at Coffs Harbour was excellent.

Excellent value printer

If you just need a simple printer at a great price and that is easy to use, this is a great choice. This replaced my EPSON All-in-on which I wasn't that impressed by (some very unintuitive design choices on that one) and the Canon was much more impressive. Easy to setup, great price, good print quality and has wifi to boot. Highly recommended.

Setup problems out of the box

I bought this as a replacement for my HP printer that malfunctioned (paper jams). I picked this out due to the price and generally favourable reviews of Canon printers. I am extremely disappointed. Setting up the printer on your home network is the biggest challenge. Firstly it only works if your WiFi network is broadcast on the 2.4GHz frequency. Then there's the Canon app for smartphones which only detects the 'hotspot' the printer broadcasts if the Wi-Fi SSID has a particular naming convention, otherwise it won't find the printer! If you want to install the software on Windows... good luck! My account is the only account on the PC and has local administrator rights but the Canon software exe file tells you that you need administrator rights to install it and backs out! Oh... better yet, they don't include a USB cable. So, basically, this is an expensive paperweight and I'm considering returning it for a refund...
