This is my first 'L' lens and was not disappointed. The lens is brilliant with quick auto focus (although I tend to use manual focus a lot of the time) and super sharp images. Wish I could afford to upgrade all my lenses to 'L's'. Highly recommended.

This is such an incredibly sharp, hi quality lens. It has such incredible sharpness and great in low light situations. Incredible quality of photos, great for very close up insect shots. I loved this lens since the first time I used it! I would HIGHLY recommend this lens to anybody.

One of the best lenses I've ever had. Very sharp, quick and not too heavy. I have tried Tamron 90mm VC USD too (300 euros cheaper) but taken Canon. Works much better on 7D and 5D. In addition, works fine with 1.4x Kenko Pro extender (blue dot) and has tripod mount (optional)

Lens hood not prefect - wobbles

"Picked up lens just prior to Christmas. With mail in rebate offer and already applied lens sales price, the lens cost was just over $900. After having taken a few hundred photos over the holidays, I've got to say that this is one amazing lens.

A user friendly lens with astonishing sharpness. Combined with a good ring-flash it opens new micro worlds

Build quality is excellent. It's water resistant. Focusing is internal, fast & quiet. The front lens does not rotate when focusing. The manual focusing rubber ring operates perfectly. The image stabilisation feature simply gives you clearer images when using hand held.

The lens is even better than I expected. Clarity is excellent. Depth of field is exactly as expected. My very first pictures were hand held and the IS worked very well. Others commented that the AF was loud - I found it to be barely audible.
