Caterpillar CAT S60

The CAT S60 is a niche product that is aimed at those with a very rugged lifestyle. If you want a phone with top of the line specifications, then this isn't the phone you are looking for.

Drop proof to 1.8m; Waterproof to 5m; Thermal camera

A faster processor would have been warranted; Primary camera needs some work

Cat S61 Review

Not everyone will exploit the Cat S61's considerable talents, but those that do will likely find it invaluable.

Rugged and water resistant; Thermal imaging camera; Long battery life; Useful measurement tools; Air quality sensor

Very expensive; Heavy and chunky; Sluggish at times

Cat S60

The Cat S60 is thick and hefty with an unapologetically industrial design. In addition to being a tough SOB that can endure 6-foot drops and the most waterproof phone made to date, it also has one thing no other phone possesses: a built-in thermal imaging camera.

The Cat S60 features a built-in thermal imaging camera; It can consistently survive 6 foot drops onto concrete and can take a 16 foot dunking into water; It has an expandable microSD card slot and loud front-facing speakers

It's significantly thicker and heavier than other smartphones; The thermal imaging feature while cool and fun, is mostly useless aside from some specific cases

Cat S60 Review: This Rugged Phone Beats the S7 Active

The Cat S60 tops its next-closest competitor, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active , in almost every way. It's more durable, has a brighter screen, lasts longer on a charge and looks better. At $599, the S60 is cheaper, too. And that's before you even talk about its built-in thermal camera.

Great battery life; Unique built-in thermal imaging feature; Attractive; durable design; Superbright screen

Mediocre performance; Lackluster low-light photos; No 802.11 ac Wi-Fi

CAT S60 review: The toughest phone money can buy

If you look for the most unique smartphones available in India at the moment, then the CAT S60 has to be right up there. This device does a lot of things, which other smartphones can't even dream about. But is that enough to woo customers, especially when you have a Rs 64,990 price tag

You will never ever worry about what happens to this phone if it takes a fall on the ground, or slips into the pool as you were checking the water's temperature; It is that kind of phone and just the looks of it gives you that kind of confidence, I did take the phone into a pool and could still use...

CAT S60

The CAT S60 is one of the most interesting smartphones I've tested this year. Featuring a rugged, near-indestructible chassis, the S60 is the first phone I've seen with a built-in thermal imaging sensor.

It gives you Predator vision; Rugged; close to unbreakable design; Near untouched Android OS

CPU could be faster; Regular camera is slow

CAT S60 thermal imaging smartphone review

The S60 really is the smartphone version of Gordon Freeman's HEV suit. It ticks every box that will suit a hard outdoor life, and doesn't seriously skimp out on hardware to make that happen.

Better thermal vision than the Predator; Properly rugged; will survive a real beating; Battery life for days

Won't win any style awards; Overkill for most people; Costs as much as a flagship phone

The Cat S60 is not made for the user that wants raw performance. Instead this smartphone is more suited for those that might use it for the various tools its equipped with. While the specs are middling they aren't terrible and performance is good across multiple tasks.

Durable to the extreme The Caterpillar CAT S60 takes durability to new levels with a shockproof design that can withstand drops from 1.8m. This has been made possible with a construction process that integrates a strengthened die cast frame.
