Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 - Black 794297-0100 review

Bose's top-of-the-line noise-canceling headphones are excellent, but their unique features might not be worth an extra $50 to you.

Sleek design and easy to use ; Top notch sound quality with excellent ; controllable noise cancellation ; Makes phone calls in noisy environments much easier to take

The price could be a turn-off

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 - Black 794297-0100 review

Bose is no longer at the top of the noise cancelling headphone race, but the 700 is an excellent option with powerful ANC. However, Sony’s WH-1000XM3 has better overall audio, and arguably better noise cancellation -- all for $100 less. The 700 isn’t the best, but it’s still really damn good.

Outstanding noise cancellation; Better design than previous Bose models; Touch controls are easy to use; Super comfy; Impressive voice clarity in noisy places

Treble can be harsh at times; No EQ adjustment in the app; More expensive than some of the competition; Bose AR isn’t a compelling feature just yet

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 - Black review

I am a Mortgage Broker with the need to take calls of "phone-like" quality and I operate in an office enviroment with a bunch of other Brokers all speaking to their clients. So, 2 requirements - Make it sound like I am the only one in the room and allow me to focus on call. Bose delivers this with the 700. These headphones have Bluetooth paring that allow me to switch between my phone and my computer with ease. Phone conversations on my PC through Skype works perfectly and has virtually no background noise. The App is evolving and moving forward it will become the glue that controls all Bose devices going forward. Its worth the investment.

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 - Black 794297-0100 review

The market for headphones with active noise canceling is large and more and more manufacturers are moving into this segment. Bose came under pressure with the Quiet-Comfort series, not only from well-known manufacturers such as Sennheiser, Sony and Co.

Very good ANC; Very comfortable to wear; Noise minimization even during telephone calls; Connection with two devices possible

Bose AR is (still?) a gimmick; No cable with in-line microphone and remote control

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 - Black 794297-0100 review

Bose has a lot riding on the Noise Cancelling Headphones 700. Long the dominant player in this space, the company has faced formidable competition from Sony’s 1000X-series headphones in recent years; the 1000XM3s finally bested the noise cancellation of Bose’s QuietComfort 35 II headphones, and many...

Superb noise cancellation; The best voice calls you’ll experience on any headphones; Can connect to two devices simultaneously

Not quite as feathery light and comfortable as QC35 IIs; Bose Music app in dire need of fixes; Accidental button presses are common

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 - Black 794297-0100 review

While the Bose 700 headphones don't beat the Sony WH-1000XM3 at active noise cancelling, they still do a great job. This is exactly the upgrade that Bose needed to make and I think doing so has made the Bose 700 headphones the most desirable pair of ANC cans on the market.

Great active noise ancelling; Sleek; new design; Gesture pad works perfectly; Better sounding than the QC35s

No folding hinges; Expensive; Microphone cuts off lower notes so people with deep voices won't come across as loud

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 - Black 794297-0100 review

When Bose launched the first QuietComfort active noise-cancelling (ANC) headphones in 2000, it changed the way consumers enjoy music outdoors, and especially on planes. The headphones were very functional, achieving noise cancellation and comfort, and were loved by frequent travellers.

Iconic design that looks subtle yet eye-catching in any occasion; Better controlled ANC levels to personalise the preferred amount of ambient noise; Able to connect 2 devices at the same time

Relatively lower battery life than competitors; Does not support premium codecs like aptX and LDAC; Requires larger storage space as the headphones do not fold; Passive audio quality is uninspiring

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 - Black 794297-0100 review

Bose was once the only and go-to company that made the best noise-canceling headphones. If you traveled on planes and trains, the QuietComfort series is all you would see people wearing. But as time wen ton, new players came into the game and began making waves.
