BlueAnt X5 Stereo Bluetooth Headset

As devices converge, digital music is becoming more and more prolific. In turn this is leading to the creation of other hybrid devices such as Blueant's X5 Stereo Headset, which combines the traditional hands free kit with a pair of stereo headphones. Several such products exist on the market, and while their usefulness cannot be denied it often seems like manufacturers have to sacrifice quality to cram in all the functionality they require. The X5 operates quite well on a headset level, but really struggles to provide a satisfying audio experience.

The X5 is a functional Bluetooth headset that does what it claims, but is really let down by poor quality audio, making it hard to recommend as a replacement for your current pair of headphones.

Convenient, Good call quality;

Poor music quality, Flimsy design;

Awesome sound!

Picked this up after reading review online and super happy, sounds amazing and the microphones plus the LED lights make this great for a party

this thing cranks

I had a listen to one of these at a friend's house and it rocks! Bonus points for how light it is.

Great Music & Bonus Karaoke Function

For those interested in karaoke potential, bluetooth and mics work together and have seperate volume so works out very well. The mics volume is quite low compared to the music output (good for smaller gatherings of a dozen people). I don't know if buying higher quality mics would help with that. Music wise it's very loud and clear, using 40-50% volume indoors. Very happy with the sound quality and overall value.

Great value for the quality

After being so disappointed with the xboom’s sound and more importantly the terrible battery life, I forked out the extra $150 for the Blue Ant, worth every dollar. The battery lasts all day on around half volume, very impressive. It’s still relatively small so it’s easy to move around, and the bass quality is good too.
