Beats Powerbeats Pro review: These are the AirPods you've been waiting for

On the whole, we don't think there's a more complete pair of wire-free earphones than the Powerbeats Pro. They offer incredible battery life, enjoyable sound, and a fit that's both comfortable enough to wear for long periods and secure enough to take it on your most extreme workout sessions.

Great fit and tips; Sound is impressive; Really long battery life; H1 Chip adds convenience for iPhone users; Brilliant for running/exercise

Noise isolation/cancellation isn't great on loud trains; Case lid feels a bit flimsy when open; No wireless charging case

Beats Powerbeats Pro review: better than AirPods and the ultimate workout earbuds

Beats Powerbeats Pro are definitely the best workout buds or running headphones that you can buy. If you need a longer endorsement, read on. I've seen some other reviews nitpicking about supposed issues with these true wireless Powerbeats, but I suggest you ignore those and buy these .

Great fit; Great sound; Great connectivity; Great controls

Fairly great expense; Although Beats have toned down their bassy 'signature sound' of old; some might still find them a tad boomy

Beats PowerBeats Pro

The true wireless PowerBeats Pro a big step up for the Apple-owned headphone brand. They have their limitations (see: lack of noise-cancellation, limited noise isolation and IPX4 rating), but they are Apple's most premium play into the true wireless space… at least until we get the Apple AirPods 2.

Easy pairing with iOS; Immaculate fit; Enjoyable sound

Case is fairly bulky; Limited noise isolation; Only IPX4 rated

Beats Powerbeats Pro

In many ways these are among the best in-ear wireless sports headphones available, but not for sound We admire the Powerbeats Pro headphones for their build, their fit and their superb features.

Superb playback consistency; Flawless comfort and fit; Intuitive control system; Great battery life

Dynamic range limited; Bass lacks punch; Audio lacks excitement

Beats PowerBeats Pro

The Beats PowerBeats Pro are the first true wireless earphones that manage to make this category seem normal. That is no insult. Nine hour battery life means all the usual annoyances of true wireless pairs melt away. Beats: the grown-up face of true wireless. Who would have thought it

Stable; comfortable fit; Decent sound; Very good battery life for true wireless

Connectivity isn't perfect; Slightly synthetic mid texture; Bass boost improved; but not high-end

The Powerbeats Pro earphones are comfortable, well-designed and easy to use. They offer superb audio and rank as one of the best wire-free earphones you can buy. They have long battery performance but also one of the largest charging cases as well.

Excellent comfortable design; Superb audio and call quality; Long battery life; Easy to pair with an iPhone

Large charge case; No companion app; Expensive

Powerbeats Pro is made for the gym, but let down by a weird fit

There are a lot of options now for true wireless exercise earbuds. Although there are certainly several tiny buds which can survive the rigours of being worn for a run, nothing beats the security you get from having an ear hook.

A better AirPods alternative Apple Powerbeats Pro Review

Apple Powerbeats Pro does not disappoint. It sets up very easy if you are using an iPhone, and has a compact, stylish design that keeps the earphones in place and takes the pressure off your ears.

The only earbuds more recognizable than the tortured white teardrops that are AirPods might be Powerbeats. These things look like rubberized hoop earrings glued to plastic boxes, flipped upside down and strung together with a dorky wire. Well, at least they used to look like that.

Awesome connectivity; very comfortable; great sound

Bulky case; big price tag
