Out of the all the products Apple unveiled during its September event – which include the and – it was the Apple Watch Series 4 that really stood out. This is because, while the bevy of iPhones received minor updates, Apple's wearable was completely redesigned.

Has there been a learning experience for Apple quite like the Apple Watch Back when the original model launched in 2015, there was – not unfairly – a sense that Apple itself wasn't quite sure what exactly it should do.

After two weeks with my Apple Watch Series 4 I'm still glad I bought it, and I was upgrading from the very capable Apple Watch Series 3. The big thing for me right now is the larger and brighter display. The stronger haptic feedback and louder speaker are nice plusses, too.

The display is actually very pretty and makes the Watch easier to use

I am of two minds on the Apple Watch. On one hand, I think that it's the best overall smartwatch you can currently buy. And to that end, the Series 4 -- now available starting at $399 -- is the best Apple Watch to date.

The Apple Watch Series 4 offers a larger, crisp display that shows more with less bezel, superfast speed and a louder speaker; It adds high and low heart-rate detection, fall detection with SOS trigger, and (eventually) FDA-cleared EKG for more detailed heart readings

Starting prices are higher than last year; Battery life still won't last past two days; Watch face options are still very limited in choice and function; Only works with iPhones

With Series 4 Apple have really got this watch right - it's fast, the screen is amazing and it looks great. I would argue that the price is pushing it - this is inflated by the fact that you do not have an option with the Stainless steel watches for a cheaper non cellular version and many will not...
