Excellent screen, no more Touch Bar, long battery

Solid machine, does everything very quickly, no holdups, excellent screen with good colours and deep blacks and excellent HDR for a non OLED. Keyboard is excellent if you have an earlier model with the awful faulty keyboards, this one is more reliable. HDMI 2.0 is a bit pointless with HDMI 2.1 is the current version, SD Card slot is also a bit pointless as it is an older version. MagSafe is back. 3 USB-C ports is one drawback, I would have liked four. The placement of the headphone jack is on the left but its position is not good if you have a jack that is an elbow shape. But overall, excellent device, keep in mind you may want the 14-Inch or the MacBook Air for easier portability as the 16 Inch can be heavy. Battery life is a great improvement now can use it all day on battery instead of 2 hours like previous models.

Big improvement over the Intel.

After having this Mac for a while now, I can say it is a big improvement over the intel machines. The intel used to sound like jet planes when doing some work load and even light work, but the M1 Pro is much quieter for longer periods and doesn't feel anywhere near as hot as the Intel. Boot up is a lot quicker than previous models, and everything feels quicker and smoother. To keep in mind being an M1 not all software is optimised yet. Totally recommend it.

It's been with me through thick and through thin, through good times and bad, I love it and adore it and treasure it ... but my god it's slow. I'd maxxed out everything: bumped up its RAM from 4GB to 8 (and investigated more than a few hardware forum threads claiming this model could run 16GB just fine, but discovered the hard way that adding 16 made my machine suffer an infinite reboot loop); replaced it...view more
