Tamron 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II LD SP AF review by Scottelly

While I have not done a lot of testing, this lens does seem to give a sharp image, when stopped down a couple of stops. It is a little soft, especially in the corners, at wider f-stops, but at f8 and f11 it is good . . . maybe even quite sharp.

Solid; lens hood fits well with positive click; good range from 15-36mm equiv

A little heavy; but it is lighter than others; so I guess compared to the competition this is not really a con

Great lens

This lens came in the original box and does not appear to have ever been used. I am a photographic novice but I have been playing with it and having a lot of fun. I sell real estate and plan to use it most on interior photos for advertising.

Little Cheaper in Price, Little Cheaper in Quality

Saved couple hundred dollars from the Nikon model, lens is a little stiffer, and movement a little less.

Best non-Canon option on the market

Great product, great price, good looking and easy to use. During a recent trip to Barcelona (where streets are very narrow) my 18-55mm lens didn't provide a wide enough angle to get nice pictures of entire buildings. With this Tamron lens I wouldn't have had that issue.

Consistent Output; Easily Interchangeable; Lightweight; Quick Focus; Rugged; Sharp Focus

Big lens hood; Little distortion at ends

I enjoy using this lens. The perspective is fantastic. The distortion at 10mm is hardly noticeable unless you are in close. The usual assumption is that lens of this type is best for landscapes, but this lens is also excellent for those close in shots also.

Good Optical quality and value for this price range; Excellent and useful zoom range; A lot of fun to use indoors or up close; Good build quality; Lens flare and CA are well controlled in most lighting

Autofocus is a bit slow; Lens Hood is very large; Huge Filter Diameter; Built in Flash is not useable with this lens unless you can deal with the large shadow at the bottom of the frame

Great lens at a great price.

I needed a new wide angle for stadium shots and landscape. My former wide angle, a Sigma 17-35, never clearly focused on the right side of the images for some reason. I already owned 2 other Tamron lenses for my Pentax K-5 and K-5 IIs bodies, a 28-75 f2.8 and a 70-200 f2.8.

Good quality build and affordable

I previosly had the Canon equivalent of this lens, which was damaged, not very robust at all!!! the tamaron feels much more solid build and at almost half the price is a much better buy. as with all Zoom lenses there is always some drop off but using F11-16 I found good definition.

Consistent Output; Easily Interchangeable; Quick Focus; Rugged; Sharp Focus; Strong Construction

"Taron Lenses, meeting expectations , every time....."

I have been using Tamron lens and have particularly a very good experience, the prices too are very commutative and obviously the picture quality is on par with the original , the price difference between the genuine Canon and Nikkon lenses to Tamron lenses are huge as Tamron would always stand the...

Initial Cost is far less then the original Canon and Nikon lenses

The only negative point I see is the requirement of UV protection film on the lens for protection

It is marginally better than the Sigma

Bought this after having used the Sigma 10-20mm lens.It is marginally better than the Sigma, however I wanted the vibration control option even thought it was £200 more, time will tell.!
