Almost perfect

I bought this camera as an upgrade to an A7II I owned, it is superb, image quality is amazing as is dynamic range. Sony's firmwarecentric drive with omission of features to try and make you upgrade ala A7RIII does leave a bitter taste, prime example is ‘my menu' sorely needed on this camera and...

I previously had a Canon PowerShot SX50 HS. I know it is quite a leap to have bought the Sony A7R II however I just LOVE it. It is light compared to the Canon or Nikon that were in the same range of quality. It is easy to use and the quality of my images have increased by 200%.

Great camera, superceeded, beware ripoff pricing.

Great (but not perfect) camera, I've owned it since launch a couple of years ago. It has now been replaced by the a7riii (R3) and if you shop around you may be able to get the R3 for a similar price to that shown for the R2 here today 7/12/17 ($3,748).

Excellent camera

This is a excellent camera and works very well, the focusing is much better than the Sony A7Sii, But the video capabilities are not as good, Also make sure that this model is made for the US and not the European version.

There is a reason this one is the top 35mm camera

I've been shooting with the a7 pretty much from the day it was released and since the A9 was not the specific product for my needs (studio portraiture and some landscapes) the A7Rm2 was the next logical step. Despite my expectations, the camera was a completelly different to the original A7.

Sony's take on improving the a7 by combining technologies from their other cameras to create this beautiful hybrid, the Sony a7R II, a palm-sized camera jam packed with features. At first glance, the body of the camera is beautiful, with its orange lens ring that stands out from other cameras.

E-mount; Solid build; Great eye-finder

Battery life; Button placements

Happy customer.

Great camera. A beautiful design. Fortunately I haven't been indoctrinated in the Canon world so I've no problems adjusting as far as that is concerned. This is actually an upgrade from my analogue medium format camera and I find this fancy piece of equipment saves me a lot of time (obviously...

Sony A7R II Mirrorless Camera Review (Full Resolution Test Images)

Sony's A-series cameras have gotten a lot of coverage in the photo press in the last few years with the recently introduced Sony A7R II receiving the kind of the pre-release hype not seen since the launch of the Canon 5D Mark II back in 2008.

Sony Alpha A7r II review

The Sony Alpha A7r Mark II is without a doubt one of the most impressive digital cameras to date: packed to the brim with features and capable of delivering higher quality images and video than anything at its price.

Very high resolution images and a body designed to capture them; 4k video; 1080 at 60p and 720 at 120p; Embedded AF system with broad coverage and good CAF; Built-in stabilisation works with any lens; Large and detailed viewfinder.

Built-in IS only provided one or two stops in my tests, Small dials and buttons; Often confusing menu system, Screen not fully-articulated or touch-sensitive, Smart Remote app needs updating straightaway for manual control, Silent shutter mode reduces RAW dynamic range
