If like me, you are considering this lens versus the Canon 50mm f/1.8 I would consider buying this lens if you shoot a lot indoors or low light.
Excellent image quality; Excellent in low light; Fast focus
Heavy
Just received it and it's amazing! Even if I ordered a used one, it works perfectly and the image quality is SO impressive! I took this shot with the canon rebel t5i. Very satisfied!
The Canon EF 50mm f1.8 II lens being one of my favorite lens I own, I tought of upgrading it to this one. Is this one better? Undeniably, but considering the Canon EF 50mm f1.8 II cost about 25% of the price of this one, the difference in build quality, USM and picture quality doesn't justify paying...
Bra och prisvärt
Min favoritglugg, lågt bländartal och därmed kort skärpedjup och förmåga att fota när det är lite mörkare för rätt så lite pengar; Perfekt för porträtt och närbilder.
Att skärperingen inte har något stopp
Very nice lense for the price. Amazing low light performance. If you have to choose between this and 50mm 1.8 do not hesitate and get this one. it is way better and for less than $ 200 difference you get much more for the money.
Canon Quality; Easy To Use; Good value; Lightweight; Sharp; Wide Aperture
Noisy focus; Not Sharp Wide Open
First of all the price was great and lower than many other sites I had looked at and the delivery time was fast! The lens arrived in well packaged and has already exceeded my expectations. With the low aperture it's a perfect lens for portraits and items that you want high detail on.
When shooting at f1.4/1.8 the sharpness leaves a lot to be desired. Even at f2 it is only good. Not until you get to f 2.2 and more does it really start to shine. Might as well buy an f 2.8 lens. I tried two different versions of this lens and they both were identical in performance.
The Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM is probably the most common non-L-Series lens that you'll see in most professional photographers' camera bags. While the Canon EF 50mm f1.8 II Lens , commonly known as the "Nifty Fifty" is most common with amateur photographers and hobbyists, you'll actually be able to...
Low price point; Good bokeh wide-open; Non-rotating front element; Solid construction
Soft performance wide-open; No ring USM; Sigma is much better
I use this for taking picures of my children. It allows me to stay close to them while shooting which every parent or child photographer knows is vital to getting them to stay in place. The bokeh is really excellent especially considering the price.
