This lens is supreme, allowing me to impress my friends and family, eliciting lots of wows and awws, and How much did that cost, comments. Heavy and bulky though but that's the price one must pay.

Amongst Canon's large, ultra-fast telephoto prime lenses, the recently unleashed EF 200mm f/2L IS USM Lens is purposely designed to provide pin-sharp images in low-light levels. As the name reveals, this intuitive lens offers an outstanding blend of a 200mm focal length with a maximum aperture of...
The Canon EF 200mm f/2L IS USM ($5,999 direct) is an incredibly sharp, and incredibly expensive, telephoto lens for Canon D-SLR cameras. It captures twice as much light as the other 200mm prime lens in Canon's lineup, the EF 200mm f/2.8L II USM ($819.99), a less-expensive lens that can focus just a...

Gary Wolstenholme reviews this professional-grade 200mm f/2L IS USM telephoto lens from Canon.
Superb sharpness from maximum aperture; Virtually no CA; Virtually no distortion; Fast f/2 maximum aperture; Excellent build quality; Effective image stabiliser
Price puts this lens beyond the reach of many
A professional-grade telephoto lens, which sports a fast maximum aperture of f/2, image stabilisation and silent focusing with full-time manual focus override. This is quite a specialised lens, costing around £4600, so we'll take a close look at how it performs in this review.
this glass can be hand held and it is just fun to use in so many settings. you can also add 1,4x and 2.0x and get lots of range and still can hand hold....a really big plus when you are on the move...highly recommend.
Great lens. Superb quality. Lightening fast, focusing. Precise pinpoint accuracy, probably too much. Pricey-yes. Worth it- yes.
Consistent Output; Durable; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Rugged; Strong Construction

This is like the holy grail of lenses and I've used so many high-end ones from every top manufacturer. People often compare this lens to the 300/2.8 but the two are very different. The 200/2 is a versatile lens with the fast aperture and wider field of view.
You haven't seen a lens until you've used this one; Nothing more can be said: http://www.flickr.com/photos/genotypewriter/5080867269/ As you can see, I get much sharper images than the lenstip guys; 1Ds3 has an overly strong AA filter compared to the 5D2 as well
Nothing..; well the white lenses are prone to paint peeling off easily when you knock them about..; especially on the lens foot but can be taken care of; Again, nothing specific to this lens
I had the joy of using this lens at a Canon training weekend that I went to through work and I really must say, I was impressed and taken aback by this lens. First of all, what would you use this lens for? Shooting fast moving objects would be the ideal.
Crisp clear lens; fast and accurate focusing
Heavy; the price
