Is Image Stabilization Worthwhile

Is image stabilization worthwhile Yes. We have had a pair of 10 x 50 for awhile and I was concerned that I would lose clarity with the smaller 36 mm lens which would be more than I gained with the 12x magnification. but the 12x was actually better.

They're amazing. Point your 12x36 binoculars at something and it jitters around, then push the button and a miracle happens, everything is suddenly still. At this price, Canon could have supplied it with a better case and it's downright stingy of Canon, not to supply them with rubber front covers...

CANON 12x36 IS III Binoculars - Black

Bought as an upgrade for a pair of Canon 10x30 IS binocs which I have had for about 10 years; Clear improvements in the magnification, optical clarity, image stabilisation and brightness and amazingly are the same weight as my old binos; Very happy

you need to accept that the minimum focus distance is @ 20 feet; so if you are using for very close work on a regular basis they may not be the ones for you

Canon 12x36 IS III Image Stabilized Binocular - Brand New review

The physical dimensions of the Canon 12x36 IS III and its weight, amounting to just 660 grams, make it similar to any 40-42 mm class pair of binoculars and they are often companions of our trips. I don't see any reason why the stabilized Canon couldn't be taken along as well.

solid casing,, sensible correction of chromatic aberration,, very low astigmatism,, excellent coma correction,, sharp images almost to the very edge of the field of view,, slight brightness loss on edges of the field,, very good white balance,, dark areas around exit pupils,, good blackening and...

such an optical system should have provided a trasmission that exceeds 90%,, short warranty period,, not especially circular exit pupils.
