Audio-Technica has been producing audio equipment, from microphones to magnetic cartridges for turntables, since the 1960s. These days it is probably best known for its headphones, such as the ATH-M50 professional studio monitor headphones and the slightly more consumer-oriented ATH-M50x model.

These are sylish headphones and the sound quality is superb across the range not too much bass which to me is great as after listening for a while with others my ears start to hurt but these are just right.

So I was looking to pick up so new hi-end headphones... did my research on the blogs/cnet/etc... these came highly recommended so I gave it a shot. 2 words... "Holy Moly!" these things sounds amazing.

Visit the store; it's an experience only nerds would appreciate. The headphones were on sale for $[$]off original price. Great customer service at B&H. The girl was so nice and really knew all the technical specs of the headphones I was looking for.

The sound quality is very nice; great mix of high and low ends with a clarity that you can't achieve with other Over-Ears at this price range

There are no extra ear cups for when the current ones get worn out; meaning that you either have to buy new ones or be contempt with indented ear cups
