Audio-Technica has been producing audio equipment, from microphones to magnetic cartridges for turntables, since the 1960s. These days it is probably best known for its headphones, such as the ATH-M50 professional studio monitor headphones and the slightly more consumer-oriented ATH-M50x model.

Audio Technica ATH-MSR7

The ‘hi-res' logo on the Audio Technica ATH-MSR7 packaging highlights the fact that these headphones, it is claimed, cover a wider frequency range than ‘normal' cans. (5Hz to 40kHz in the case of the MSR7s – human hearing ranges from 20Hz to 20kHz.)

Clear; open sound; Decent detail; Comfortable fit

Thin; lean balance; Bass lacks weight and music lacks drive; Slight coarseness further up the frequency range

Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 headphones review: Neutral over-ears are positively priced

We've been seeing over-ear headphones rain from the skies over the last couple of years, as one of the fastest expanding areas in tech. With new names entering the fold, the long-time established brands, such as Audio-Technica, are fighting back with kit from their every corner.

Excellent neutral audio; comfortable to wear for hours at a time; solid build quality; excellent price point

Would prefer less prominent branding (including the "left/right" markings); mid-high push less natural

Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 review

Wireless headphones are all the rage, and for good reason. Listening to music wire-free is simply more convenient, as you don't even need to touch your music player to change songs. That said, there will always be a loyal crowd of headphone enthusiasts that refuse to snip the cable. Why?

Superb Headphones!

These are sylish headphones and the sound quality is superb across the range not too much bass which to me is great as after listening for a while with others my ears start to hurt but these are just right.

Design and Specifications The 45mm 'True Motion' closed-back drivers produce 100db of output with 35ohms of impedance, which make these headphones great for portable and home use. The only real flaw is that they weigh 290g, but the increased weight is offset by their superior comfort levels to some...

Solid Metal Build, Comfortable, Open, clean sound; live up to the high-resolution name, Useful cable options

Not portable enough for commuting or on-the-go use; Bass may be inadequate for some users

Best purchase, ever.

Visit the store; it's an experience only nerds would appreciate. The headphones were on sale for $[$]off original price. Great customer service at B&H. The girl was so nice and really knew all the technical specs of the headphones I was looking for.

AUDIO TECHNICA ATH-MSR7GM Headphones - Gunmetal & Brown

The sound quality is very nice; great mix of high and low ends with a clarity that you can't achieve with other Over-Ears at this price range

There are no extra ear cups for when the current ones get worn out; meaning that you either have to buy new ones or be contempt with indented ear cups
