Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (2013)

The Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (2013) uses Intel's Haswell-based Core i5 processor to give power users a system that can last almost 12 hours under continuous use, weighs just over three pounds, and still process graphics and scientific tasks quickly.

Brilliant Retina display; Over 11 hours of battery life; Comes with iLife and iWork software suites; Two Thunderbolt 2 ports; HDMI.

Glossy screen; Ethernet requires adapter; Only upgradeable at time of order

Apple 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display review

The new 13in MacBook Pro is still very expensive, but when this year's best model costs just £50 more than last year's, you're getting much more for your money. With a beautiful Retina display, a large SSD, powerful hardware and improved graphics performance, the 13in MacBook Pro stands head and...

13-inch Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display

According to CNET, it's now "pretty close to what competitors charge for thin 13-inch laptops with super-high-res screens." That holds true for the step-up version, as Macworld says that "the high-end model's higher price seems to be justified by its faster CPU, standard 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of...

Glorious Retina display; Powerful performance; Ultrabook-thin and light; New lower price

No discrete graphics

Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch with Retina display (late 2013) review

The MacBook Pro is Apple's top-of-the-line laptop computer and one that comes with plenty of power. It's available in two versions: the 13-inch and 15-inch, both of which can offer Retina display - as in this model on review - and a powerful spec sheet if you are happy to add a little weight to your...

Powerful; great screen; good design; brilliant battery life

Have been issues with a number of elements (now fixed); not as powerful as some would like; glossy screen; no discrete graphics; this or the Air

Review Apple MacBook Pro Retina 13 Late 2013 Notebook

The MacBook Pro 13 with Retina Display is an excellent notebook. Compared to the predecessor it is now thinner and lighter with better performance and longer battery runtimes. Case, input devices, emissions and the screen are still the benchmark in many respects.

Very quiet; Long battery runtimes; Excellent unibody chassis; High-resolution IPS display with excellent OS support; Great input devices; Apple sets the benchmark in its class once again

Virtually no upgradeability; Difficult to maintain and to repair because of pentalobe screws; Glossy display; Only 12 months warranty and expensive upgrade to three years; A matte display - at least as an option

13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display reviewed: Better (and thicker) than Air

There are other high-res laptops out there, but this year's more powerful and affordable 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro is one of the best of the bunch, and makes a compelling case for upgrading from the 13-inch Air.

Still expensive if you plan to add more storage or RAM; no extra Nvidia graphics option as on the 15-inch version; yes, it's thicker and heavier than an Air

Apple Macbook Pro 13-Inch (2013) review

Apple's MacBook Pro is an institution in the laptop market. Originally released in 2006, the MacBook Pro has been in consistent production longer than any notebook except Lenovo's T-Series and X-Series laptops, and it has defined the premium market since its release.

Excellent build quality; Very thin and light; Great keyboard and touchpad; Retina display is beautiful; Outstanding battery life; Strong performance in all areas; Runs quietly; Good value

Design remains unchanged; Retina display crushes black detail

Honestly, the display on the 13.3" MacBook Pro is gorgeous. I can see where a photographer might enjoy the Retina Display, and for me, the 1280x800 resolution of the screen on this laptop is perfect. The display is bright, very bright, sharp and has excellent viewing from side to side.

Lightweight; portable; clear display; fast wake up/sleep

Non-upgradeable RAM
